Most early childhood programs ask toddlers to sit still and prepare for kindergarten. But young children learn through movement, play, and discovery. If you're looking for something different, you're in the right place.
Alaska Forest School has been running child-led outdoor programs in Anchorage since 2013. No curriculum, no pressure — just real learning in Alaska's backyard.
How it works:
Register for a class
Show up dressed for the weather
Watch your child lead their own adventure
Children gain confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of being outside. Parents gain skills, community, and the reassurance that their kid is exactly where she should be.
You don't need a curriculum, a classroom, or a perfect outdoor space. You just need a curious child and a willingness to follow their lead.
